When searching for Havanese puppies for sale, there are many things that every potential buyer should understand. The most important of which is the fact that the Havanese breed requires a certain amount of special attention as they were, until quite recently, an endangered breed. The original dogs, sometimes also called Bichon Havanais are thought to be completely extinct. But with a few dogs having been smuggled into the U.S. from Cuba in the early 1900’s, the Havanese breed has gained in popularity over the last several years.
The once rarity of being able to find Havanese puppies for sale, has made the breed even more popular in recent years. Breeders are quickly realizing that these special little dogs are not only the perfect size for a family pet; but also that their mild temperament makes them the perfect choice for families with children.
If you do decide to purchase your Havanese puppy from a breeder, then it is imperative that you carefully research the breeders you are considering before making your final purchase. Most breeders take excellent care of the dogs in their kennels; but there are always the few exceptions to the rule that turn out pups that have not been properly cared for. These unrespectable breeders are most always referred to as puppy mills.
When searching for Havanese puppies for sale, many potential buyers are unsure as to whether or not they should focus on buying a registered pup, or simply purchase an unregistered dog. Considering the fact that there is about a thousand dollars difference in price between a pup with papers and one without, it will all depend on what your reasons for buying a Havanese are. Are you simply looking for the perfect family pet; or are you looking to breed with another Havanese in order to have puppies of your own to sell?
If you are purchasing your new Havanese puppies from a private owner, there are still precautions you can take, even though you can’t really call the Better Business Bureau. Call your local veterinarian to see if he or she has ever treated any of the puppies the owner is offering. Ask to see any and all medical records pertaining to the litter of pups you are choosing from. This is especially important if the pups look undersized, or ill fed.
There is a wealth of information available from your vet that will help you to recognize a healthy Havanese when you see one. These small pups should always have a nice, fluffy, clean coat, be fleshed out nicely by the time they are made available for sale and should be playful and energetic. A dog that does not have each of these qualities, can generally be considered an uncared for dog.
Be sure that if you do decide that you want to either breed or show your Havanese pups that you make certain that you are purchasing your pup, or pups, from a reputable breeder. It is a sad fact that many breeders do not afford these sweet little dogs the care and love that they deserve.
Wherever you choose to buy your Havanese puppies from, the most important thing is to understand that these gentle creatures deserve all oft the love and care that a true dog lover can give.

With all of the different Siberian Husky puppies for sale that are popping up everywhere, it is no wonder that it can be confusing and maybe even a little frustrating as to where and what you should do. The best thing that you can do for not only yourself, but for your future puppy, is to do as much research as possible and ask a lot of questions.
By just taking that little bit of extra time and thought, you are going to be able to get the deal that you deserve and you will not be taken advantage of. By asking yourself a few quick questions while you are looking at the puppies or the dealer, you may very well be able to catch onto something that just does not appear to be right and you can either walk away and find someone else or if the case calls for it, report them to the proper authorities.
If looking to the Internet to find Siberian Husky puppies for sale there are several factors that you need to consider. The fact of the matter is that for every good breeder that is on the Internet, there are probably ten more who are looking to scam you. It is very possible that you are not being given all of the information you need in order to make an informed decision.
But by purchasing your puppy from the Internet you may end up actually costing yourself more money as you are not being given the chance to see the puppy in person and may end up with a pup that has medical conditions you couldn’t notice on a picture.
While the Internet is full of a lot of options that you may not have in your local area right at the moment, it may be vital to wait until there is a breeder with pups available in your area so you can go view them for yourself.
When you finally decide that you want to actually see your potential puppy in person, it is important to understand that even pet stores who have Siberian Husky puppies for sale are a risky venture as you still do not know about their history or where they came from. Pet stores do not release breeder information and when they purchase them to bring into their stores, they often times do not check the conditions of the breeder’s location.
This can cause an angry dog or a dog with emotional and behavioral problems that can end up costing you a lot of money, time, energy, and love.
But on the bright side, you are able to interact with it right then and there and the puppy’s behavior then could be a good indication of how it will behave in the future.

The Shar Pei is an intelligent and playful breed that can also be headstrong at times with a stubborn streak. It is important to use persistence when training a Shar Pei pup since they are dominant and will run your house if you let them. By starting training early and being persistent you can establish yourself as the head of household.
However, it is also important that you take care of your Shar Pei pup so that they can have a long, healthy and happy life. To do this make sure you get your Shar Pei pup vaccinated when you first get them and then make sure you get their booster shots on the exact schedule that your veterinarian recommends in order to maintain their immunity to diseases.
It is also a good idea to discuss flea control products, heartworm preventative treatment and worming with your veterinarian. By doing these things you can keep your Shar Pei pup healthy and happy.
Another important part of taking care of your Shar Pei pup is their diet. You should feed your Shar Pei pup a high-grade dog food. Meat should be the first ingredient of any dry dog food. Dog food should have a crude protein between twenty-two and twenty-six percent. The crude fat should be no less than twenty percent. You also want your dog food to have a fiber content of four percent or less.
From a very early age it is important that you socialize your Shar Pei pup with children and any other pets in your household. The Shar Pei is very playful around children but they can also be aggressive when around other dogs. When you train your Shar Pei pup you should avoid using a sharp voice. Rather the Shar Pei does well with kind words and positive reinforcement, usually in the form of treats. However, because of their stubborn streak you still want to be firm when handling your Shar Pei pup.
Every day you should exercise your Shar Pei pup, but make sure you keep them on a leash at all times so they don’t get into conflicts with other dogs. You should consider taking your Shar Pei pup to puppy kindergarten training classes around ten weeks of age. Although make sure your Shar Pei pup has plenty of shade and water when exercising in hot weather because they are extremely sensitive to heat.
At least once a week you should brush your dog’s coat with a bristle brush and grooming should be done several times a day when they are shedding. Give you Shar Pei pup a bath as needed but be careful not to shampoo them too frequently since this can make them more susceptible to dry skin.
Bathing should be done no more frequently than once every two weeks. Regularly check your pup’s nails and trim them at least every two to four weeks. Start a nail-trimming schedule when your Shar Pei is still a puppy. Make sure you check and clean their ears with a cotton swab often to avoid ear problems.

Although Poodles absolutely make wonderful dogs, it is important that anyone who is considering getting a Poodle is aware of the Poodle training process and how it is often much more difficult than that with other breeds of dog. This is because Poodles tend to be very stubborn and dominant. They are also very forgetful which is why it is important to teach them things over and over again until it is burnt into their memory.
Proper Poodle training is essential in order to make sure that the puppy understands what is right and what is wrong and will grow up and be a polite and well mannered adult dog. Training can be difficult with any breed of dog but especially so with Poodles because they tend to be very stubborn and dominant dogs. This means that training them even a single thing will often take much longer than with other dogs. Once well trained however these dogs are incredibly polite and well behaved.
There are a few great tips in particular that are helpful for Poodle training. Basic dog obedience should be the first step, and then as the dog makes progress the owner can add in more lessons. The come command is one of the first and most important lessons that an owner should teach their dog, and to do this the owner needs to order the dog to “Come!” and right after they have given the command they need to pull the dog towards them and praise them. Praising the dog both verbally and physically is very important because this is going to make sure that the dog understands that they have done well.
For the stay command the owner needs to instead put their hand out flat in front of the dog, with the palm facing upwards. Then they need to tell the dog to “Stay!” and step in front of them at the same time.
The bottom line is that although a lot of time and effort has to be put into Poodle training, it is well worth it to stave off Poodle problem behaviors before they begin. Poodles are truly amazing dogs and make great pets, even in families with young children.
One of the most important tips an owner needs to remember when it comes to Poodle training is to be repetitive. Most dogs are forgetful but the Poodle is especially so, and so more than ever it is important that the owner be consistent with their training to stave off future Poodle problem behaviors. Even by missing just a day of training can leave the dog confused and they may even forget everything that they have already learned.
Patience is a necessity here and really key when training not only a Poodle, but also any sort of dog. Owners need to remember to focus on a single command each session rather than trying to cram as many in as possible, so that the dog is not left confused and overwhelmed.
This is especially important with Poodles because they can be quite mean and domineering, especially if they are not trained properly.

If you are looking to get a Boston Terrier the best place to find one is probably a Boston Terrier rescue shelter. It can be a challenge to find one, but if you are willing to do some investigating you should have no problem locating one to suit your needs. A good place to start is through the Boston Terries owners club. The club maintains a list of rescues groups across the country, and if you are willing to travel a bit one that has the dog you are looking for should be no problem to find.
The Boston Terrier is a spunky breed, so be prepared for a dog with a lot of energy. A simple Internet search should reveal what rescue locations are in your area. The Internet can help a lot because the rescuers generally have descriptions and pictures of the dogs on their web sites. Search through these, then call the location to set up a time to go and meet the dog. If you have other pets, you may want to discuss bringing them with you so you can ensure that the dogs will get along.
Once you have found a Boston Terrier rescue nearby your search is not over, however this is the fun part. You now need to find the dog that is right for you, no small task but a something that is worth your while. Contact the shelter and get familiar with the people that work there. Try to find out as much as you can about how they take care of the animals they bring in and about how many they have.
You may also want to find out information on what vets they work with and whether or not they have any veterinarian facilities on site.
The search for a Boston Terrier rescue is as much about finding the right one as just finding one. There are plenty of shelters across the United States, most likely several near you. You want to do your homework to make sure that the one you go with is one that you can rely on to make sure that everything with your pet has been looked at and that they are being completely honest about their physical condition.
After finding Boston Terrier rescue that you want, you now need to figure out which dog will work best for you. The Boston Terrier can be a bit of a finicky breed so plan to take the time to get know one before bringing it home. Also make sure that this is the dog breed that you want, and if so get in contact with the shelters to plan some time to look at the dogs.
Once there make absolutely sure that the dog you are planning to get will work for you. I can’t stress enough how hard it can be to find that right dog. Boston Terriers are wonderful companions and some of the best dogs I’ve ever had have come from shelters.
Take the time to make the right decision. Make sure to spend as much time as you can with your potential pet before deciding to adopt. It is a lot easier to be picky than it is to end up with a pet you cannot handle. Hopefully all this will help you make your decision.

Did you know that your dogs’ bad behavior doesn’t stem from a desire to displease or irritate you? It’s not even an attention getting device. It simply feels like the thing to do at the time for him. Ruining your carpet is not his intentionhe just needed to go potty at that time. Jumping all over your house guests does not indicate that he is naturally unruly or spoiledhe wants to get to know the people that are allowed into your home. Remaining calm and really understanding your dog are keys to correcting this behavior.
When you begin to housebreak your new puppy or dog, one good option to try first is crating. Dogs actually prefer dens or areas that are confinedhe just may not realize it yet. Put something into the crate that your dog really likesa special treat or toy. Eventually the whining will stop and he will become quite comfortable. If he does have an accident in the house, no punishment allowed! Move on and do not display negative behavior. Just love your little guy and remember he needs your affection above all else. Your best friend also needs to be taken outside frequently. If you have a fenced back yard, terrific. If not, talk him on walks with youyou will both benefit from the exercise and he will appreciate being praised when he does his business out doors.
Excitement is a natural element in the life of a dog. He loves anything that will arouse his interest. So when he jumps on all those guests the first minute they walk through the door, he is just demonstrating his pleasure. Your options are either no more guests or correct the behavior. Naturally, correcting the behavior is going to be your choice. Therefore, do not give your little pal the opportunity to be loose in the house once a guest enters. You should also consider teaching your dog that when guests do come over, he will always be appropriately dressed in a collar and leash. In most cases, this will do the trick.
Separation anxiety can become a full-blown major issue if you do not take steps to correct the problem. The situation arises simply because your dog does not want to be left alone. He will begin with pacing and then couple that with whining and even barking. If left untreated, he may begin to even scratch at the front door or chew and tear on items in your home. It can even escalate to him chewing on himself. Again, the response is simpleput him in an enclosed area, such as a crate, with his favorite toys and treats. This will eliminate a great deal of the stress and anxiety that your poor little guy has been feeling.
Dogs exploring trashcans seems to be the norm in many households. But this behavior is not acceptable. This is a fairly simple problem to correct. Everyone in the household needs to follow a game plan for changing this behavior. The first thing to do is simply state firmly, “No” when this occurs. Timing here is crucial. He does not need to be corrected for getting near the trashcan or eating the contents of it. He needs to be corrected for getting “into” the trash. And never allow him access to the trash when you are not at home.
Rushing past your legs and through the door is a behavior that could easily cause your dog injury or death. He needs you to shelter him from this possibility. Teaching him the COME and STAY behavior is absolutely crucial to his well being. This will give you the control you need to stem his excitement and unruly actions. And preventative training is a great option, as well. Simply do not allow your dog to be in that situation to begin with. If the door is going to be open, he should not be loose in the house. His health and security are in your hands.

Wouldn’t you love to have a picture of your Chihuahua on a coffee mug, a mouse pad, or a calendar? You can create the requisite Chihuahua pictures for these items by learning how to photograph your Chihuahua with a digital camera. Once you decide on the shot you like, you simply take the file to a kiosk specializing in personalized gifts and let them do the rest of the work.
Taking Chihuahua pictures is a fun activity for you and your pet. Whether you use an inexpensive digital camera or the very latest camera phone, digital photography is ideal for taking pictures of pets because you only pay for the pictures that turn out. The “delete” button takes care of blurry shots, shots with red eyes, and shots where your Chihuahua doesn’t look his best. Be sure to start each photo session with fresh batteries and a fresh memory card.
Another advantage of using a digital camera is that you can review the pictures you took right away and retake any pictures that don’t measure up to your standards. Before you start taking Chihuahua pictures with your digital camera, be sure you have a fresh memory card and fresh batteries in the camera so you won’t have to interrupt your photo session to swap cards or batteries.
After your camera is all ready, set the stage for your photos. It’s a good idea to have several backdrops available, as different patterns and textures will produce different results. Generally speaking, light subjects should be photographed against dark backgrounds, and dark subjects should be photographed against light backgrounds, so choose your background based on the color of your pet’s coat. Whether the background is light or dark, it should be neutral and free of any distracting clutter.
If you must take your Chihuahua pictures indoors, take them in the brightest room available and see if you can do without the flash, to get more natural colors. Placing mirrors opposite from windows and doors will amplify the light and brighten the room even further.
Consider using props in your Chihuahua pictures. Try items that reflect your dog’s Latin heritage, like Mexican blankets or castanets. Everyday items that demonstrate how small your dog is, like shoes or balls, also make photographs interesting.
On picture day, make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise so he or she has a chance to release energy before a period of sitting still. Don’t worry that your dog may be too drowsy; some of the best Chihuahua portraits are taken of dogs that are yawning or are about to fall asleep. Keep your dog’s attention by holding a favorite toy or a treat behind the camera. Be sure to reward your dog at regular intervals during the photo session.
After you finish, enjoy the fruits of your work by uploading your Chihuahua pictures from your camera to your computer. The best pictures deserve to be displayed on your computer wallpaper or uploaded to a digital picture frame.r Chihuahua

Do you know what to do if your puppy is suddenly lying on the ground after being seriously injured by a car accident, poisoned, electric shock, or is choking? I realize that the last thing you want to do is imagine your lovable pet being hurt in such a fashion, however, accidents do happen and if you are not prepared to administer basic first aid to your dog then it may be the last time you ever see him again should an unfortunate injury take place.
In today’s article we are going to discuss basic artificial respiration as well as CPR that you can give your dog in case the situation calls for it. Please know that the following steps are just basic guidelines and you are encouraged to take a small class on first aid so that you can be better equipped to handle an accidental injury to your puppy or dog.
1) For Starters, if you find your puppy lying on the ground injured, the very first thing that you must do is to check for the heartbeat. If there is no heartbeat to be found, then you must immediately start to administer CPR to the dog.
A: On one side of the dog’s chest, place your hand on the dogs chest and roll him on to his side. B: Using short bursts, compress the puppy’s chest where the heart is located at. C: Every six seconds, you will need to administer a breath to your puppy which can be done by holding the puppy’s muzzle creating a tunnel and blowing air directly into his nose.
2) Check to make sure that your puppy does not have any obstructions in his mouth or throat. While looking for an obstruction, also make sure to check for any blood or mucous that may be present. To do this check, you can place two fingers in the puppy’s mouth and while hooking the fingers, sweep from one side to another as far back as you can go. If it is a small puppy you may only need to use your index finger.
3. In order to make sure that the puppy’s airway is clear, pull the tongue out of his mouth. Then shut his mouth gently.
4. Next pull the lips over your dog’s mouth and make them secure by wrapping your hand around the mouth and under the chin.
5. With your other hand, create a funnel to the dog’s nostrils which should be as airtight as possible.
6) Take in a slow but very deep breath of air and exhale it into the tunnel that you created with your hands.
